The selected concept anticipates the reconstruction of the Baroque complex of the former Jesuit college but complements it with a new granted layer of building interventions, in order to create a conference and educational centre. These include first of all external interventions such as halls under the second courtyard, exhibition areas under the first courtyard and accommodation at the boundary wall. A specific element is the completion of the chapel presbytery in the eastern façade of the south wing, which was already planned in the past and was to close the entire complex more and at the same time to emphasise the main entrance. The architectural design works with the entire grounds of the college. The individual courtyards and free spaces around the building are covered by a carpet or fabric under which the dimensions of the newly placed elements – halls and rooms – protrude. The gently undulating surfaces of the individual areas create the atmosphere of a residential landscape. All of the structures of these buildings are planned of a translucent composite, which besides natural lighting and a load-bearing construction will also fulfil a heating-insulating function. The interiors of the college will also be complemented with new elements of the translucent composite.
